One Card Draw for the week of January 25th, 2016

Published on January 25, 2016 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: Ace of Chalices What a fantastic card to follow up a fantastic Wolf Moon! There are three major aspects related to this card and I want to make sure to touch on each one. The first aspect is joy. What does joy mean to you? What brings you joy? When was the last time you allowed yourself to relish in that emotion? I bet you were too quick to wait for the other shoe to fall weren’t you. Feel the joy and be present in that emotion when it comes. Allow yourself to be the bringer of joy to someone else. Our spirits thrive and soar on this emotion. This brings us to our next aspect for the week, nourishment. This is all about spiritual nourishment. Joy is one of the few emotions that can fill our spirit to the brim with energy that keeps us moving and shaking. Whatever comes your way this week, make sure you take time to partake in things that nourish your soul. This will give you a great foundation to get through anything that might be less than pleasant. It is also your responsibility to nourish others. That is simply being a good steward of the Universe. Our last key aspect for this week is magic. Magic of course comes from within. You access and harness your magic from your emotional energy and your spiritual energy. You cannot possibly weave powerful manifestations or magic if you are coming from a less than nourished spirit or lack the joy in your art. If you are intent on creating powerful magic, it should always come from a place where you are whole and fulfilled. You are the vessel/chalice that each one of these aspects fills. You are the source of joy, nourishment…

One Card Draw for the week of January 18th, 2016

Published on January 18, 2016 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: King of Swords Your one goal this week is to take over mastering your personal circle and world. You are king of your energy space and it is yours to rule as you see fit. So, what does that look like? You don’t engage in petty conflicts or quarrels. Those are for the peasants. You have a right to disengage from drama. That is for the gossips. You have the right to divvy up your time how you see fit giving priority to where you feel it should be. You still hold up your responsibilities, but make sure what you are committing to IS your responsibility and not something done out of a sense of guilt or coercion by others skirting their own responsibilities. While this card refers to worldly and less spiritual aspects, it can still be applied in that realm. You pursue what you feel best suits your kingdom and your energy. It may mean forming a moat with a few traps to catch those who would drag you into their bog of drama. If you have to, draw up the bridge, drop down the portcullis and lock the negativity out. Key Phrase for the week: I am in control of my kingdom and my time, energy and talents will be used as I see fit.

One Card Draw for the week of January 11th, 2016

Published on January 11, 2016 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: 6 of Wands We have fire energy this week with our 6 of wands. There are three key words associated with this card. The first is realization. Expect ‘aha!’ moments to be prevalent this week. Some may be subtle and some may shake you awake out of a stupor you may not have realized you were in. The second is war, but I prefer battle. In this case you are to choose your battles wisely. You do not have to engage in any argument or discourse that you have no desire to undertake. Look for the diplomatic solution to bowing out graciously in order to protect your energy and your inner peace. The third is supposition. This is a reminder to be careful of what you believe is a truth when you have no proof or evidence to prove that belief is correct. We are in Mercury retrograde for most of the month and that means many things are hiding in the shadows and not all that you need to see is available to you. Key Phrase for the week: Be cautious, choose your battles wisely, and make decisions slowly.

One Card Draw for the Week of January 4th, 2016

Published on January 4, 2016 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: 10 of Chalices This week you should remember that you have the potential to represent love in its purest form. You must also remember to love yourself. You are also perfect. What you may see as flaws or “wrong things” are what make you, you. Even your shadow side has a purpose. It isn’t to be gotten rid of or destroyed. It is to be loved and understood just as you yearn to be loved and understood. Your scars, my scars, their scars, are what make each of us who we are. There is no cosmic surgery to erase the scars and make them go away. To try and to erase them is to erase part of your soul and as a Shaman I cannot emphasize the negative impacts and danger that that represents. I am proud of my scars. I earned each and every one of them. The scars are a testament to your strength and your resolve. So remember to love you, all of you, in its perfect self. Love others as they are, not what you perceive them to be. They are also perfect as they are.

2016 Overview

Published on January 3, 2016 under Shamanic Writings
Deck: Messenger Oracle This year’s overview is going to be slightly different. I will be giving you a key phrase for each month that you can use to remind yourself what the purpose of the month is about for you. This year is all about personal growth and realizations. January: Time to Ground This is a very appropriate card for January. This is the month that sets the tone for the rest of the year. It is this time we tend to set our intentions for how we want to grow emotionally, physically, spiritually and universally. Make this month about setting your plans to achieve the greatest you possible during the year. Take the wonderful New Year energy and start molding it into yourself and reform who you are on the inside. Key Phrase: I will build myself on a strong foundation that is rooted in the truth that is myself. February: Show that you Care February tends to be the month about love, but it is also the month about the slow change from the cold and into the spring. It can be one of the hardest months of winter and yet underneath all the snow and ice lays the promise of a newer and more abundant time ahead. The same is true for people and our spirits. Your goal for this month is to focus on the love within each other and not the anger, hate, or ugliness that people tend to put forward. This will not be an easy task but it will be essential to your growth as well. You are only to put good thoughts about yourself out into the world for all to see. If someone pays you a compliment, say thank you. Do not put yourself down, even in jest. Key Phrase: I…

Reading for the week of December 28th, 2015

Published on December 28, 2015 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: 2 of Swords Oh what plans are made among mice and men, but one should never set anything into stone. As we begin our week, we need to remember that like a tree we will need to bend a little here, allow the negative to just pass through our leaves and keep ourselves firmly rooted in what we know is true and dear to our heart. With the tradition of New Year’s resolutions coming on Friday, keep in mind that you can’t make a resolution that will require you to shake your foundation so violently that you become uprooted. Uprooted trees cannot grow, and the idea of making resolutions it to put forth intentional growth. So before you decide to make huge sweeping changes, make sure that are within your personal truths and are rooted in your foundation. Oh, and no resolution is set in stone so deeply that it cannot be altered or adjusted. The idea is to promote growth and healthy change. Card: The Fool What exciting changes are awaiting you this New Year? Not sure? How would you like to take a leap of faith? The energy bringing in our new year is about spontaneity. It is about traveling. It is about stepping outside your personal boundaries. It is about embracing the idea of eccentricity to the point of breaking your shell just a bit. It is about getting your groove on and forgetting about the rules that you allow to bind you for just a little while. Cut loose, let go and climb to the highest building a shout out your wildest dreams to the world. Card: 5 of Pentacles We close out bringing in the New Year with ambition and the need for stability. If I can give you just once strong quote…

Reading for the week of December 21st, 2015

Published on December 21, 2015 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: The Hermit The beginning of the week we have a card that almost represents the antithesis to what this week around the world has come to be about and represent, which is material greed of the winter holidays. This card isn’t here though to make us shameful of the giddiness that gift giving and receiving brings too many of us, but it is instead a reminder to focus on the larger gifts that the Universe gives us and are the true center of the meaning for this season. We are being reminded to focus on the love of others. We are reminded to be a little kinder, to use our turn signal, to drive less frantically, to say please and thank you. We are reminded to hold the door open for the frantic mother. We are gently shoved to speak more kindly to the harried clerk behind the counter after having waited on line for 25 minutes. We are to set the example that while our time is precious, and we are all in a hurry, that we are all human beings and the holiday meanness and crankiness that have begun pervading the shopping malls in the name of materialistic greed is not the reason for our season. You my dear readers are much wiser like our Hermit is. You understand that while the shopping and the wrapping, the gift giving and receiving are part of the joy that we share over the next week or so, it is far from the greatest gift that we can give to one another. Use your wisdom and your enlightenment to make someone else’s frantic holiday craze a little calmer and show them the meaning of Universal love, patience, gratitude and most of all…. Peace. Card: King of Pentacles…

Reading for the week of December 14th, 2015

Published on December 14, 2015 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: 7 of Wands As the days grow shorter and the world falls more and more asleep, we will find that the energy at the beginning of this week may seem more challenging than nurturing. This isn’t really a competition though. You may feel as if you are being tried and tested, but that isn’t the purpose of the energy coming your way. This energy is designed to slow you down, make you pause, take a break from the rush of life and force you to relax. When is the last time you allowed yourself the freedom of relaxing? How long is that to do list of yours? Have you overbooked yourself so much that you can’t even take time to enjoy the season? Whether you celebrate Chanukah, Yule, Christmas, or something else, you need to stop and pause even if ever so briefly to allow yourself to enjoy life. The harder you struggle against this energy, the more it will challenge you and the tougher it will seem. Don’t worry; you’ll still get done anything that is truly important. Make sure you have your priorities in order. Card: King of Wands As the middle of our week approaches, you need to make a promise to yourself. It should sound something like this, “I promise not to take on anything that does not serve a personal purpose or benefit me in some way. I will fulfill my current promises to others and if need be, ask for help.” Can you do that? Yes, you can. You need to start wrapping up your commitments so you can rest with the rest of the Universe. You need this Winter Solstice to renew you as much as the Universe needs it to renew itself. If you need help finalizing those…

Reading for the week of December 7th, 2015

Published on December 7, 2015 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: King of Swords We begin our week reasserting our rule over our personal, work, and spiritual space. You are king/queen of your domain. There is no downside to establishing your kingdom for yourself as long as you harm no one in the process. You will be wanting to gather your resources and make strong use of your time and effort in this endeavor. You must also remember to treat yourself as a royal. This means not allowing yourself to come last, but first in your pursuit of happiness. It may seem a bit selfish, but when it comes to our wellbeing we sometimes have to be just a smidge self-centered. Think of it as pampering yourself. Of course this is more about drawing personal boundaries than it is going to war with those who would rather dictate our lives than work in harmony and achieve an alliance. Sometimes our best offense is a well-built fence. Card: 3 of Chalices The middle of the week we will start finding occasions to celebrate the small victories in our personal lives. It may be that you have toiled endlessly to get your personal life or space back on track. It may be that you have sealed the deal on a fantastic future endeavor. However celebrations come in all shapes and sizes. For some, it may mean simply not eating that extra piece of pie. For others it may simply mean waking up pain free for one day. Each time we achieve a first is a positive and we must remember to honor the small things as well as the small things. Some of you have been struggling during this year, it’s in the air and the Universe tells me just how many people struggle day to day. For you,…

Reading for the week of November 30th, 2015

Published on November 30, 2015 under Weekly Readings
Deck: Viking Tarot Card: 9 of Chalices Are you feeling a little lighter in your step? Have you completed some tasks that have given you a sense of satisfaction? Have you been having some measure of success in closing out your business deals or personal to do list? If you have you got a jump start on the energy this week. The beginning of the week will not lend itself to us singing The Rolling Stones’ “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”. Quite the opposite should be true for the vast majority out there. Some of you are simply going to be reaching a place of contentment and happiness and feel like kicking off your shoes and basking in the release it brings. For my driven folks, you will be finding your efforts paying off a little bit more than usual. Enjoy the positive energy! Card: 2 of Chalices We move from a happy beginning into an even better middle of the week. Your attraction to your loved one will feel like it is amped up with Universal energy. You will find people being more agreeable to your requests or suggestions. Your friendships will get a much needed boost and because we are entering the holiday craze, this will be a great foundation to build a support network so if you get a bit stressed out; you have a great safe place to go chill, relax, and release. Can’t beat that can you? Card: The Hierophant The end of the week will see the Universal pull towards the mystical, the magical and the esoteric on us. We are going to feel that inner priest rattling our ribcage trying to wake us up to the magical wonder of the season approaching. This is the time in which new life is given to…
